Bandai Visual worked together with Blu-Ray disc company Meister and held a poll among users online in August, giving users the power to vote for an anime project that will be made into a BD box. Thanks to the results of that poll, the True Tears anime series received top votes and might be released in a Blu-Ray box set!
There are a couple of twists to this planned release - there are no details on whether it will be released to the stores, and currently, the only way to get your hands on this set is to order it online through the Bandai Visual site between 10 November to 16 December 2009.
Another twist to it is that the production of the anime into BD versions will only be determined if more than 2,000 orders are received! So if the numbers are not met, then the True Tears BD box won't ever see the light of day...
True Tears Anime
Nakagami Shinichiro is an only child of a sake-brewing family, and is a high school student. He's been interested in a girl, Yuasa Hiromi, who under certain circumstances, comes to live with him and is also his classmate. Hiromi used to be cheerful and happy around him, but since she started to come live with him, Shinichiro hasn't been able to see that side of her that he liked so much.
One day, a chance encounter lets Shinichiro meet a girl named Isurugi Noe, who tells him that she can't cry no matter what. Even though he's confused by Noe's erratic behaviour, there's a certain charm about her, and from that meeting onwards, it seems to bring changes to Shinichiro and the people around him..
